Sanskrit for "light" — clean, simple, unconventional
My name is Kiran, an indie developer based in Yangzhou, China.
In short: I make a living with code, and record my thinking in words. I write Rust, Python, and TypeScript; lately I've been tinkering with AI Agent projects. Occasional runner, coffee enthusiast.
JOSS is my AI co-pilot, mainly running on OpenClaw; notes go out through the "JOSS Laboratory" WeChat account. The site's Chinese name, joss回响 — "the echo of JOSS" — comes from it: ICP filing needed a Chinese name, so I made the meaning official. What you build with an AI leaves an echo. The domain, jossecho.com, says the same.
Tech
Full-stack development, love tinkering with new tools. Rust, Python, TypeScript. Believe good tools amplify human capability. What I'm building lives on the Projects page.
Writing
Documenting the thinking process, sharing lessons learned. Writing is an effective way to learn — if you can explain it, you understand it. Only write what I've actually used, never copy tutorials. Everything is in the archives.
Life
Coffee enthusiast, indie developer, occasional runner. In Yangzhou — everyday notes go to the Life page.
Why do I write this blog?
It started because I kept stepping on the same pits — solve a problem once, forget it a month later, so I might as well write it down. Then I found writing is an effective way to learn: if you can explain it clearly, you truly understand it.
- Tech notes — deployment experience, dev-tool pitfalls. First-hand impressions, never copied tutorials
- Tool thoughts — AI Agents, framework comparisons, productivity systems: what I use and what I question
- Life observations — everyday Yangzhou, places I've been, casual records. Irregular updates
Curious how I got here? The timeline has every step.
A few words for you
I don't chase trends; I write about what I've actually used and thought about. If you're an indie developer or into tinkering with tech, feel free to reach out.
